Three Championship clubs are battling to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Alex Pritchard on loan for the rest of the season, according to HITC.
Middlesbrough, Burnley and Brighton, who are all pushing for promotion to the Premier League, are understood to have discussed terms with Mauricio Pochettino’s side in a bid to secure the services of the former England Under-21 international.
The 22-year-old, who scored 12 goals in 45 appearances on loan with Brentford last season, has been sidelined since October with an ankle injury after featuring just once for Tottenham this year.
Spurs had previously indicated that Pritchard would stay at White Hart Lane this season, but the need to get back to match fitness and play regular first-team football is believed to be behind the change of heart.
Boro have already strengthened their squad this month, bringing Gaston Ramirez in on loan while agreeing a fee for Blackburn striker Jordan Rhodes, while Brighton have also added in midfield, but Burnley have been quiet in this window.
