Blackburn Rovers, Huddersfield Town and QPR are all interested in Swansea City attacker Jamie Paterson, a report from Wales Online has revealed.

Paterson only joined Swansea as a free agent in the summer, following his departure from Bristol City, but it seems he is already facing an uncertain future at the Welsh club.

It was reported at the weekend that the 30-year-old missed Swansea's draw at Huddersfield, as he was unhappy with the way that Swansea handled the process of triggering a 12-month extension in his contract, by not improving the terms he was on.

As a result, it now seems as though the attacker could be on the move once again during the current transfer window.

According to this latest update, Paterson is now training with Swansea's youth team, and with the club expecting him to leave this month, which has apparently caught the attention of others in the Championship.

It is thought that Blackburn, Huddersfield and QPR are all interested in Paterson, although Swansea have not entirely ruled out a return to their first-team set-up, provided the attacker proves he wants to stay at the club.

Since joining Swansea, Paterson has scored eight goals and provided four assists in 22 Championship appearances for Russell Martin's side.

The Verdict

This certainly looks to be an interesting one for these Championship sides to consider.

Given the number of goal involvements he has had in the second-tier this season, Paterson could be a more than useful addition for one of those interested teams.

However, despite the dispute over his contract situation, the fact is that Swansea can still demand a fee for the 30-year-old, who may be reluctant to sell such an influential player to a league rival.

As a result, this does seem as though it could turn into something of a saga for those involved, which could be well worth keeping an eye on in the next few weeks, considering how much of an impact Paterson could have for any club who win the race for his services.
