All three sides that were relegated from the Premier League last season are reportedly seriously looking at Fulham’s £15 million striker Ross McCormack, according to GetWestLondon.
Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez told the press that he will not sell if he doesn’t want to and also that funds are available for him to bolster the squad in the summer, so the Magpies will feel in pole position to land the 29-year-old striker.
Aston Villa sparked interest in Ajax winger Anwar El Ghazi earlier in the week, and new boss Roberto Di Matteo will be hoping that he can pair him up with McCormack up top to help replace Jack Grealish, who looks set for an exit from the club.
Norwich will be much more cautious in splashing out £15 million on a new striker after Steven Naismith flopped since arriving from Everton for big money, which could rule them out of the running.
Many fans will see £15 million as too steep of a fee for a player who is coming on 30 years of age and has never played in the Premier League, and Jordan Rhodes’ time at Middlesborough is a warning to all three of these clubs.
Premier League side Crystal Palace have also been credited with an interest so the Scot may have the choice to move to England’s top flight.
