It's been another busy few days in the Championship, with clubs looking to add to their squads before the January transfer window reaches a conclusion.

Norwich City are currently sat top of the table, and will be looking to keep themselves clear of the likes of Swansea City, Reading and Watford in the race for promotion into the Premier League.

Whilst Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday and Wycombe Wanderers have all been struggling at the wrong end of the second-tier standings this term.

This could prompt teams into adding to their squads this month, in what could be a frantic end to the winter transfer window.

We take a look at the best of the latest transfer news from the last few days.

Championship clubs line up to sign Cardiff City man

Cardiff City winger Josh Murphy is attracting interest from Nottingham Forest, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday according to Football Insider.

Murphy has been restricted to just three league starts this term, which has seen a number of clubs in the second-tier battle it out to land his signature.

Barnsley midfielder linked with departure

Barnsley captain Alex Mowatt has been linked with a move away from the club recently.

It was previously claimed by Football Insider that Millwall were keen on a deal to sign the former Leeds United man, but London News Online have since reported that there isn't any interest from Gary Rowett's side.

But that reportedly won't stop Mowatt from reaching an agreement with another club, with it being claimed that he's still looking for a move elsewhere.

Nottingham Forest midfielder set for loan move

Bachirou only signed for Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window, but has been restricted to just one appearance for the Reds' first-team.

Chris Hughton is reportedly willing to listen to loan offers for the midfielder, which won't come as a surprise to many of the City Ground faithful.

Burnley set to make offer to sign Bournemouth forward

Burnley are said to be preparing a move for AFC Bournemouth forward Josh King according to Football Insider.

It is also claimed by Football Insider that West Ham have 'stepped aside' in the race to sign the Norwegian international this month, which gives Burnley a real chance of landing his signature.

Rangers working on deal to sign Preston North End pair

Scottish giants Rangers are reportedly working on deals to sign both Ben Davies and Daniel Johnson on pre-contract deals according to Football Insider.

The pair are out-of-contract at the end of this year's campaign, and are yet to agree new contracts with the Championship side, which has hinted that they could be set for a Deepdale exit in the coming months.

Swansea City set to sign midfielder

Swansea City are set to sign Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane according to The Athletic.

Hourihane has found regular game time hard to come by this season with Dean Smith's side, and will join the Swans on loan for the remainder of this year's campaign.

Middlesbrough pull out of deal to sign Premier League winger

Middlesbrough had previously been keen on a deal to sign Everton winger Yannick Bolasie, but the move appears to be off now.

Football Insider have reported that Boro have pulled out of a deal to sign the 31-year-old, and are now pursuing other transfer targets before the winter window closes.

Stoke City eyeing move for Scottish forward

Stoke City are believed to be keen on a deal to sign Aberdeen forward Sam Cosgrove according to The Scottish Sun.

The 24-year-old has scored three goals in 14 appearances for Aberdeen this term, and it is reported that the Potters are keeping an eye on him heading towards the conclusion of this year's campaign.

QPR keen on deal to sign Fulham man

QPR are reportedly interested in a loan deal to sign Fulham midfielder Stefan Johansen according to journalist Sean Gallagher.

Johansen has only made two appearances this season for the Cottagers this season, and could be set for a return to the Championship with Mark Warburton's side.

Watford unlikely to strike deal with Italian club

Watford were previously linked with a move for Udinese's Walace, but that seemingly isn't the case now.

The Athletic have reported that the Hornets are unlikely to reach an agreement to sign the 25-year-old in this month's transfer window.
