But today, we start our transfer round-up with a potential arrival at the Riverside…
According to Football Insider, Middlesbrough are closing in on the signing of former Chelsea defender Todd Kane on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with Hull City, making 41 appearances for the Tigers whose push for the play-offs tailed off towards the end of the season.
But after failing to make a single first-team appearance during his time at Stamford Bridge, Kane is now believed to be closing in on a move to Middlesbrough.
The chase is on for Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, with Aston Villa and AFC Bournemouth interested in signing the shot-stopper according to the Daily Mail.
The 27-year-old was one of Fulham’s standout performers despite their relegation from the Premier League last season, with his form in between the sticks resulting in two call-ups to the England squad.
Reading are edging closer to re-signing Liverpool midfielder Ejaria and Chelsea defender Miazga on loan this summer, according to Courtney Friday.
The duo spent last season on loan with the Royals, playing an integral role in helping Jose Gomes’ side avoid the drop to League One.
Reading have also completed the signing of Charlie Adam on a free transfer.
The Scot was a free agent after being released by Stoke City at the end of last season, upon the expiry of his contract at the bet365 Stadium.
The experienced midfielder had interest from former club Blackpool, but it was Gomes’ side who won the race for him on a one-year deal.
Ben Osborn finally looks set to join Sheffield United from Nottingham Forest, with Nottingham Post journalist Paul Taylor providing the latest update.
The midfielder has made over 220 appearances for the Reds since coming through the ranks at the Nigel Doughty Academy, being able to play as a central midfielder or out wide.
The Blades have been linked with a £5m move for the Derby-born midfielder, and Chris Wilder’s side now look set to land their man.
Hull City and Queens Park Rangers are believed to be interested in signing Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall, as per reports from Football Insider.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a hugely impressive loan spell with Steven Gerrard’s Rangers last season, and will now look to return to the City Ground and force his way into Sabri Lamouchi’s first-team plans ahead of next season.
Worrall only has one year left on his deal at the City Ground, though, so whether they will tie him down to a new deal remains to be seen.
