The weather is heating up in the United Kingdom, with the summer transfer window also reaching boiling point.

With nearly a week to go until the start of the 2019/20 EFL campaign, managers are still on the lookout for fresh faces as they look to lead their sides to a successful season next term.

Today, we start our round-up off at the City Ground, where Forest look to be keeping one of their more important players...

Joe Worrall

The Nottingham Post claim that Joe Worrall will not be leaving Nottingham Forest this summer, with the club already rejecting an offer for the defender.

Football Insider had claimed that QPR and Hull were interested in signing the homegrown star, who still has three years left on his current deal at the City Ground.

Worrall enjoyed an impressive loan spell with Rangers last season, and will be looking to force his way into Sabri Lamouchi's plans in 2019/20.

Marc Bola

Blackpool left-back Marc Bola is continuing to attract interest from Championship sides, with Middlesbrough now holding an interest in the 21-year-old.

The exciting full-back won Blackpool Fans' Player of the Year award and Players' Player of the Year award last season, and is very highly regarded at Bloomfield Road.

But having been interesting the likes of Brentford of late, Middlesbrough are now believed to be keen on Bola, as per reports from Football Insider.

Anfernee Dijksteel

Football Insider also claim that Boro have had a bid rejected for Charlton Athletic midfielder Anfernee Dijksteel.

The Dutchman, who is able to play as a holding midfield, a full-back or as a wing-back, played an integral role in helping Lee Bowyer's side win the League One play-offs last term.

Boro are understood to have made a formal bid for the 22-year-old, but it has been turned down by Charlton.

Jordan Ayew

Jordan Ayew has completed a permanent move to Premier League side Crystal Palace, for a reported fee of around £2.5m.

The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Selhurst Park from Swansea, scoring just two goals in 25 games for the Eagles.

After scoring 12 goals in 57 games for the Welsh club, Ayew has now moved onto pastures new.

Ivan Sunjic

Birmingham are believed to be closing in on the €7m signing of Croatian midfielder Ivan Sunjic.

Leeds and AC Milan have been linked with the signing of the defensive midfielder, who stood out for Croatia in the Under-21 European Championships earlier on this summer.

But now, Croatian media outlet Vecernji List claim that Blues have had a €7m bid accepted for the 22-year-old, who is now set to fly in for contract talks.

Ben Wilmot

Swansea have signed Watford defender Ben Wilmot on a season-long loan deal.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan with Serie A side Udinese, and after impressing in Italy, he has now joined Steve Cooper's side for the season.

He made the move from Stevenage to Vicarage Road in 2018.
