Wednesday was probably the most exciting day of the summer transfer window thus far, with plenty of high-profile clubs completing some very big signings indeed.

Leeds United put out a huge statement of intent, Sheffield United completed an impressive signing of their own, whilst Slaven Bilic continues to reshuffle his squad at the Hawthorns.

But today, we start off at Elland Road, with Marcelo Bielsa completing the signing of yet another winger...

Leeds sign Helder Costa

Leeds have completed the signing of Wolves winger Helder Costa, in what is probably the most standout Championship transfer deal of the summer thus far.

The winger arrives at Elland Road initially on a season-long loan deal, but his move to Yorkshire will be made permanent next summer.

The 25-year-old was influential for Wolves as they won promotion to the Premier League last year, and leaves Molineux having scored 19 goals and made 19 assists for Nuno Santo's side.

Sheffield United sign Luke Freeman

Sheffield United have also been busy this week, completing their first signing upon their return to the Premier League.

They have signed QPR playmaker Freeman for a reported fee of £5million, after scoring nine goals and producing eight assists for the R's last term.

Upon his arrival at Bramall Lane, Wilder said: "Luke gives us balance off his left foot. His stats add up and all the eyes we've had on him have come back with glowing reports.

"He's one of the best players in the Championship and he can play in a number of positions. Luke is ideal to complement what we already have at the club, I think he will be a good fit for us."

Barnsley sign Aapo Halme

A surprising departure some would say, with young central defender Halme departing Leeds for Barnsley.

The Tykes will have been on the lookout for a new defender, with solid duo Ethan Pinnock and Liam Lindsay both leaving Oakwell in recent times.

Halme made five appearances for the Whites last season, and impressed in Marcelo Bielsa's side in the absence of Pontus Jansson.

West Brom want Trevoh Chalobah

Onto transfer rumours, and West Brom are looking at the option of signing Chalobah on loan from Chelsea.

According to the Express and Star, Bilic is eyeing up a move for the defender, who can also operate as a holding midfielder.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan with Ipswich Town, and was one of their most important players despite their relegation to League One.

Bournemouth join Celtic in race for Stacey

Luton Town defender Jack Stacey is now wanted by AFC Bournemouth, as well as SPFL champions Celtic.

The right-back was named in the League One Team of the Season last term after helping the Hatters win the title, scoring four goals and producing eight assists in all competitions.

According to the Scottish Sun, Bournemouth are set to go head-to-head with Celtic in pursuit of the full-back.

Luton have also signed left-back Brendan Galloway from Everton, after losing James Justin to Leicester.
