There are less than five weeks until the beginning of the 2019/20 EFL campaign, which means that transfer speculation is only going to intensify between now and the start of the new season.

It has been a busy couple of days in the Championship, with managers beginning to add more and more players to their squad as pre-season training gets firmly underway.

Here, we round up all the latest transfer news and rumours from the Championship on Tuesday...

Leeds strike Spurs transfer deal

It was a whirlwind day for Leeds United, with Jack Clarke completing a permanent move to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, for a reported fee of £9million.

Moments later, though, the Whites confirmed that the young winger would return to Elland Road on a season-long loan deal, as Marcelo Bielsa's side look to win promotion to the Premier League.

Barnsley lose key man

Barnsley have lost one of their most important players in Ethan Pinnock, who has signed for Brentford for a fee believed to be in the region of £3million.

The 26-year-old was hugely influential for the Tykes in their promotion-winning season last time out, forming a solid defensive partnership with Liam Lindsay and helping Barnsley concede the fewest amount of goals in League One.

But after a two-year stay at Oakwell, the former Forest Green man has now signed for the Bees.

Leeds man could be Pinnock's replacement

It looks as if Barnsley may not have to wait too long to find a replacement for Pinnock, though, with Leeds United defender Aapo Halme set to undergo a medical at Oakwell.

The 21-year-old made five appearances for Marcelo Bielsa's side last season, after making an impressive impact in Carlos Corberan's under-23 side.

But the central defender looks to be on his way out of Leeds, with Barnsley looking likely to complete a deal for the young centre-half, as per reports from Football Insider.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder revealed that a deal to sign Luke Freeman from QPR is imminent.

The playmaker scored nine goals and produced eight assists for the R's last season, and now looks set to join the Blades for a fee believed to be in the region of around £5million.

The chase is on for Mallik Wilks

Despite impressing for Doncaster Rovers last season, it looks as if Mallik Wilks may not get the chance to impress Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds next season.

The Yorkshire Post claims that Wilks is likely to leave Elland Road again this summer, with Hull City and Barnsley believed to be among those interested in the exciting attacker.

The forward scored 16 goals in all competitions for Donny last term, in a season where they narrowly missed out on promotion from League One.
