Preparations for the 2019/20 campaign are well and truly underway, with plenty of clubs beginning to identify transfer targets ahead of the new season.

With Fulham, Cardiff and Huddersfield coming down from the Premier League, Leeds and Derby remaining in the second tier, and Luton, Barnsley and Charlton all coming up from League One, the Championship is shaping up to be hugely competitive next season.

Here, we round up all the done deals and transfer rumours that have surfaced over the course of the week...

Bid rejected for Liam Lindsay

After playing an influential role in the Tykes' promotion from League One, Lindsay is a player in serious demand as we enter the summer transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City, Derby County, Brentford and Middlesbrough are all believed to be interested in the towering defender, who has recently been the subject of a £1million bid from Italian side Brescia.

After helping Barnsley concede the fewest amount of goals in League One last season, the Tykes have, perhaps unsurprisingly, rejected the bid, as they look to cling onto their star-man this summer.

Leeds eyeing wingers

Leeds have been linked with no end of talented wingers this week, as Marcelo Bielsa looks to add more firepower to his side this summer.

The Yorkshire Evening Post has reported that the Whites are interested in re-signing Jack Harrison with Manchester City, with Wolves winger Helder Costa and and Liverpool attacker Ryan Kent also believed to be on their radar.

Wolves have also said that they will listen to offers for Ivan Cavaleiro, as per reports from the Express and Star, so it remains to be seen whether Leeds look to reignite their previous transfer interest in the 25-year-old.

Kalvin Phillips attracting Premier League interest

Leeds could also face a fight to keep hold of one of their most important players this summer, as Kalvin Phillips begins to attract interest from the top-flight.

According to Football Insider, AFC Bournemouth have made an early move to sign the midfielder, the same club who took Lewis Cook away from Elland Road in 2016.

The Cherries have added the likes of David Brooks and Chris Mepham to their squad in recent times, and Phillips could become the next Championship star to make the move to the South Coast.

Barnsley eyeing 14-goal ace, as well as Derby youngster

Barnsley look to be quite active this window, with the Tykes set to complete the £1.2million signing of Luke Thomas from Derby County.

Gloucestershire Live report that the Tykes are close to completing the signing of Thomas, who scored five goals and produced five assists on loan with League One side Coventry last term.

A source close to Mansfield Town has also exclusively confirmed to FLW that CJ Hamilton is on the Tykes' radar - the winger scored 14 goals and produced six assists for the Stags last season, but only has one year left on his current deal at the One Call Stadium.

Aston Villa lining up move for Jack Butland

The last piece of major transfer news that we have seen this week, is that Aston Villa lining up a bid for Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland.

The 26-year-old was a regular for the Potters last season, but after remaining in the Championship, the shot-stopper looks set to move to the Premier League this summer.

The England international is now believed to be on Aston Villa's radar, with Dean Smith looking to bolster his side's goalkeeping options ahead of their return to the Premier League.
