Tomorrow night, the 2019/20 EFL campaign gets underway, with Luton Town taking on Middlesbrough at Kenilworth Road in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

It has been a busy summer for every club in the EFL, most notably in the Championship, where each side will be hoping for a positive season in the second tier.

With only one week to go until the transfer deadline slams shut, managers are still trying frantically to get deals done, and transfer business will go right down to the wire this summer.

Today's round-up begins at Derby County, where a big-money arrival looks set to be on the cards.

Krystian Bielik

Daily Telegraph writer John Percy claims that Derby have agreed a potential club-record fee to sign Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik.

The 21-year-old was a hugely important player for Charlton Athletic last season, putting in a string of impressive performances mostly in defence, as the Addicks won the League One play-offs.

Able to play in defence or in holding midfield, the Polish youngster looks set to arrive at Pride Park and undergo a medical with the club on Thursday.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell

Peacock-Farrell looks set to leave Leeds United, with Premier League side Burnley having a £3.5m bid for the goalkeeper accepted by the Whites, as per reports from the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The 22-year-old was a regular for Marcelo Bielsa's side in the first half of the campaign last season, but has since made just five appearances in 2019 after falling behind Kiko Casilla in the pecking order.

But with Tom Heaton set to sign for Aston Villa, Sean Dyche now looks set to bring in Peacock-Farrell to add competition at Turf Moor.

David Cornell

HITC Sport claim that Reading are among a host of clubs interested in signing Northampton Town goalkeeper David Cornell.

The Royals are in the market for a new shot-stopper, with Everton loanee Joao Virginia and Sam Walker their only options in between the sticks at present.

Cornell impressed in League Two last season, and is now reportedly wanted by teams higher up in the EFL.

Brice Samba

Reports from French media outlet Soccerlink claim that Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Caen goalkeeper Brice Samba.

The 25-year-old is also believed to be a target for Rennes and Montpellier, but it is also understood that Forest are holding an interest in the shot-stopper.

Forest have already added Aro Muric to their squad on loan from Manchester City this summer, and with Costel Pantilimon and Luke Steele still on the club's books, this move is likely to surprise Reds fans.

Samba Sow

Meanwhile, Forest have completed their eighth signing of the summer, with Samba Sow arriving from Dynamo Moscow.

He's a tall, strong, combative defensive midfielder who also plays for the Mali national team, and will be in contention to face West Bromwich Albion this Saturday.

Kasey Palmer

Bristol City have completed the permanent signing of Kasey Palmer from Chelsea.

The attacking midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Ashton Gate, scoring twice in 17 appearances for Lee Johnson's side.

The 22-year-old never made a senior appearance for Chelsea during his lengthy stay at Stamford Bridge.

Ollie Watkins

Crystal Palace have made an £11m bid for Brentford winger Ollie Watkins, according to reports from Football Insider.

The attacker scored 12 goals and produced nine assists for the Bees in all competitions last season, establishing himself as one of the most dangerous players in the division.

But with two years left on his contract at Griffin Park, the Eagles have now reportedly come calling.

George Honeyman

The Daily Mail claim that Sunderland have accepted a £400k bid from Hull City for captain George Honeyman.

The midfielder scored eight goals in all competitions last season, playing a key role in the Black Cats' push for the play-offs in League One.

But after failing to gain promotion at the first time of asking, the midfielder now looks set to make the move to the KCOM Stadium, with only 12 months left on his current deal on Wearside.
