Danny Graham has penned a contract extension with Blackburn Rovers, the club's official website has confirmed.

The 32-year-old was set to leave the club at the end of this month if his deal was not extended but he has signed a one-year contract with the option to elongate his stay by a further twelve months.

After hitting 17 goals last season to help Blackburn win promotion back to the Championship, Tony Mowbray's men were desperate to see him commit his future to the club but they faced competition from other clubs.

Graham admitted that he had interest from other clubs but wanted to extend his stay at Ewood Park.

The experienced centre-forward will be looking to add to his tally of 37 goals in 106 games for Rovers.

Blackburn fans were understandably delighted by this news, which comes as a major boost ahead of the new season.

Here are how the fans reacted to Graham's new deal on Twitter.
