Despite finding the net five times in their opening two fixtures of the 2018/19 Championship campaign, Norwich City have only picked up one point thus far.

A 2-2 draw at St Andrew's on the opening day of the season, followed by a disappointing 4-3 home loss to promotion candidates West Bromwich Albion, has left Daniel Farke’s side still in search of their first victory.

With four different goal scorers already in the ranks at Carrow Road, attention turns to the back line as the source of the Canaries struggles so far this season.

Having conceded 60 goals in 46 Championship matches last season, the leaky defence looks to have continued into the new campaign, having conceded six goals in the first two matches alone.

Norwich will certainly be looking to build on last season’s underwhelming 14th place finish, and the introduction of a few more new faces could significantly help them towards that.

With that in mind, here are three players that Norwich City should be targeting on loan this week.

Younes Kaboul, who has been on the books at Watford since 2016, made just two appearances for the Premier League side last season after suffering an injury early in the campaign.

Despite never having played in the Championship before, the 32-year-old certainly still has what it takes and could slot in nicely to the Norwich City back line.

Following his injury, Kaboul is unlikely to feature much for the Hornets this season under the reign of Javi Gracia, but deserves a shot at consistent first team football.

The 31-year-old centre back, who rejoined Premier League side Watford back in 2016, is unlikely to feature for Javi Gracia’s side this season that often, and could be a terrific addition to Farke’s back line.

Adrian Mariappa, who has years of experience in both the Championship and Premier League, will be looking for opportunities of first team football this season, and Carrow Road could be a perfect fit.

After making 29 appearances for the Hornets in all competitions last season, it proves that the defender is still capable of being a dominant threat at the back.

Despite the Canaries starting centre forward Jordan Rhodes finding the net in their previous fixture, the acquisition of a new striker could turn Norwich’s season into a special one.

Following the departure of Patrick Bamford, Middlesbrough still the central attacking options of Assombalonga, Brathwaite, Gestede and Fletcher to choose from, with the last of those being a potential huge pull for the Canaries.

The 22-year-old, who spent the latter stages of last season on loan at Sunderland, has featured for Tony Pulis’ side this campaign, but an offer of regular first team football each week might just be enough for the youngster to make the loan move.
