A 'few' Championship sides have made an offer to Republic of Ireland veteran Robbie Keane, according to an interview on TalkSport.

The 36-year-old striker left England after an illustrious career in the Premier League, a stand out spell at Tottenham Hotspur saw the Irish striker score 80 times in 197 appearances for Spurs.

After leaving England, Robbie Keane decided to join MLS side L.A Galaxy where he went on to make over 100 appearances for the Los Angeles side.

As Robbie Keane's contract with the MLS side has come to an end, there could be a shock return to England on the cards with a number of sides showing their interest.

Initially, it was believed that Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, two of Robbie Keane's former sides would offer the veteran a short term deal.

However, in an interview with Talksport, Robbie Keane dispelled these rumours stating that neither side had made any contact about a potential return.

Robbie Keane did admit that a few Championship sides had made an offer to bring him to their club, one of which is believed to be Preston North End.
