According to The Scottish Sun, St Mirren have turned down a bid from Burton Albion for Lewis Morgan.
Lewis Morgan is held with high regard by St Mirren but he is attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs.
Bristol City and Sheffield United had been strongly linked with a move for the talented young winger but it appears that Burton Albion have firmed up some interest with a bid.
The Brewers launched a bid in the region of £250,000 but St Mirren have knocked that back, according to this report.
It was reportedly the second formal approach by Burton Albion for Lewis Morgan.
The 20-year-old is considered to be one of the top talents in the Scottish league system at the moment and is attracting plenty of attention after impressing in the Scottish Championship.
The Scotland under-21 international weighed in with a very respectable tally of nine goals and twelve assists from the flank last season in the second tier of Scottish football, helping St Mirren to a seventh place finish and dragging them away from the relegation zone.
After selling one of their stars, Stephen Mallan, to Barnsley already this summer, St Mirren are desperate to keep wonder-kid Lewis Morgan.
Burton are looking to steal a march in the race for the Scottish starlet though and could possibly return with an improved offer.
