Brentford have reached an agreement to sign Rangers youngster Nathan Young-Coombes, according to Football Insider.
The Bees may be in the midst of a promotion battle in the Sky Bet Championship, but that doesn't seem to be stopping the club from planning for the future.
According to Football Insider, Brentford have agreed a deal to sign Young-Coombes in June, for a fee of around £100,000. The youngster is free to talk to other clubs with his contract expiring at the end of the season, but a move to West London seems to have been all but agreed.
Young-Coombes joined Rangers from Chelsea in 2019, and has since made a number of appearances for the Glasgow side's reserves.
The 18-year-old has previously played up top, out wide and in midfield for Rangers, which shows how he versatile he can be.
He has also played for England Under-17s', and could now be set to return to London in June.
The Verdict
Brentford have a knack when it comes to signing young players and turning them into very talented players.
Young-Coombes is obviously a raw talent who has coped well with moving country and playing for a big club, and he has seemingly caught the eye.
Brentford have a number of talented youngsters coming through the ranks, and there is no reason to suggest why he can't follow in the footsteps of the likes of Marcus Forss.
