Steve Bruce has admitted he is keen to sign Nick Powell from Manchester United on loan.

Nick Powell

The 21-year-old joined the Red Devils four years ago from Crewe Alexandra after a string of highly-rated performances caught the attention of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Since then he has struggled to break into the first team due to injuries, making just three appearances for the Old Trafford outfit.

During his time at the club he has been loaned out to Wigan Athletic, where he scored 7 goals in 32 appearances, and Premier League rivals Leicester City.

He has also played twice for England at Under-21 level, however his last appearance in a Three Lions shirt came three years ago.

Tigers boss Bruce is now hoping that Louis Van Gaal will allow Powell to leave on loan again so that he can play some regular football in the second tier.

Bruce told reporters: "Yes, he's somebody who interests us. I've liked Nick from the first time I saw him when he played for Crewe. Whether we can get something over the line is debatable, but we're trying."

Hull are also close to signing goalkeeper Dusan Kuciak from Polish side Legia Warsaw for a reported fee of £250,000, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

The Tigers only have two registered goalies at the club in Allan McGregor and Eldin Jakupovic so Bruce is desperate to add some competition between the sticks.

Kuciak has been a long-term target for the club and the potential move comes just months after the Tigers had two bids rejected for the 30-year-old shot-stopper.

Hull fans, do you think Nick Powell can make an impact for Hull City and help you in your promotion push? Would you be happy to see him sign before Monday's deadline?
