The new Championship season is little over a month away, and over the course of the last week, clubs have been returning for pre-season training.
Transfers and talks are ongoing at this stage of the summer, whilst in Nottingham there has been a sudden change of management today.
In our latest FLW Round-up, we start at the City Ground and the departure of Martin O’Neill…
Nottingham Forest sack O’Neill
After arriving back at Forest earlier in 2019, O’Neill has departed the City Ground today with Sabri Lamouchi replacing him in the hot seat.
O’Neill couldn’t guide Forest into the play-offs last season, and with the players reportedly unhappy with the City Ground legend’s methods, a change has been made by the men at the top.
Wolves’ stance over Helder Costa
A report in the Express and Star has delivered an update on Wolves’ stance over Helder Costa, who is a main target for Leeds United this summer.
Whilst the Molineux club are open to a departure, they would prefer a permanent exit to a loan one.
However, a loan-to-buy could be an option, which leaves the door open for Leeds still.
Football Insider has also claimed that Leeds are in talks with Wolves over a possible £2million-plus loan deal for the winger.
Grot departs Leeds
Dutch forward Jay-Roy Grot is departing Leeds for the 2019/20 season, his second loan in as many seasons.
Grot spent last season on loan with VVV Venelo in the Eredivisie, where he is heading again with Vitesse.
His last appearances in a Leeds shirt came back in April 2018.
Cranie joins Luton Town
As they embark on their Championship return, Luton Town have added the experienced head of Martin Cranie to their squad.
Cranie helped Sheffield United to promotion last season and was a big player for Chris Wilder as he guided his side to second.
Whilst automatic promotion might not be the aim for Luton, Cranie will help them adapt back to the Championship.
West Brom want Trevoh Chalobah
According to Football Insider, West Brom want to sign Chelsea youngster Chalobah for the new season.
He was part of the Ipswich Town squad that was relegated last season, but Slaven Bilic remains keen on the versatile youngster.
