Championship sides Preston, Bristol City, Charlton and Brentford are chasing a deal to sign Villarreal striker Fran Sol, according to HITC Sport.

Newly-promoted sides Preston North End and Bristol City are after the Real Madrid academy product, as they're prepare to strengthen their squads following promotion from League One.

Charlton Athletic and Brentford are also interested in the 23-year-old as they look to add some fire power to their respective squads for next season

He has been told that he will feature in the first team squad for Villareal next season but he's desperate for first team football and is prepared to move away from his native Spain in order to achieve that - which has alerted a number of Championship clubs.

He has a year left to run on his contract, and is also a target for Scottish Premier League champions Celtic and is understood to be available for a nominal fee from the La Liga side.
