Prolific Tenerife Striker Nano is a summer target for Rafa Benitez, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
The Spanish striker, who plays in the Segunda Division, has been impressive form for the Spanish side recently with 14 goals in 22 starts.
Rafa Benitez has a track record of bringing players to England who have played in Spain and this could be another example of that.
The task the Toon Army face to bring him to the club could be made tricky due to heavy interest from other English sides.
Also, La Liga side Real Betis have reportedly scouted the striker multiple times over the 2015/16 campaign. Betis have also missed out on signing attackers such as Charly Musonda from Chelsea. Thus, attentions have turned to Nano, making it interesting to see how Newcastle act on trying to secure the signature of the impressive striker.
With big names such as Ayoze Perez set to leave St James’ Park, Newcastle face a hard battle to replace that talent with players who will be able to send them straight back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
The question is, with interest abroad on players such as Nano, will they prove good enough to allow an instant return to the big time for the Magpies?
Newcastle fans… are you impressed with Benitez’s interest in bringing foreign players in? Or would you rather he invested in proven English players who know the Championship? Let us know in the comment section below!
