Championship midfielder distracted amid rumours of a switch to Swansea City

Brentford manager Dean Smith has admitted that Ryan Woods has been distracted about talk of his potential move to Swansea City, Wales Online reports.
The Bees enjoyed a thumping start to the 2018/19 Championship season, thrashing Rotherham United 5-1, but Woods was left out of the game amid talk of him leaving.
Brentford manager Smith, on Woods’ omission, said: “We know there has been a bid for him but the valuation has not been met. He’s okay with the situation but he was distracted earlier in the week.
The 24-year-old has spent the last three seasons with Brentford, amassing well over 100 games for the club, after joining from Shrewsbury Town.
Smith said that he left Woods out because he was distracted by off-the-field issues, such as a potential move to Swansea and that his partner is pregnant.
The Verdict
Over the years, Brentford have lost key players and replaced them very well.
The likes of Maxime Colin, Jota, Harlee Dean and Lasse Vibe left last season but the West London club always seem to pull something out of the bag.
If Woods departs, he is not irreplaceable and while he would leave a void in midfield, I back Smith and Brentford to get their recruitment right when finding a replacement.
