Championship midfielder Charlie Adam has backed Marcus Rashford over Tammy Abraham in a debate concerning the two strikers in a Q&A on his official Instagram channel.

The former Liverpool man now plies his trade in the second tier with Reading and will be looking to help the Royals finish the season as high as possible in the table if the campaign resumes.

Similarly, both Chelsea and United will be wanting the season to restart as they go in search of a place to ensure them of Champions League football for 20/21.

They've seen injuries to their striking talents in both Rashford and Abraham this season but the break may well allow the pair to return in decent shape and, for Adam, it's the former that he would rather play with if he had the chance:

The Verdict

Both players have pace but Rashford is perhaps that little bit quicker and capable of peeling out wide and stretching the defence as a striker.

For a player like Adam, who likes to pick the ball up from deep and start spraying the ball, such movement in the final third is a dream and you can perhaps see why he would side with Rashford here.

Both, though, are top players and will be looking forward to getting back playing as soon as it's safe to do so.
