A number of Championship clubs are interested in signing Watford winger Isaac Success, according to football journalist Graham Bailey.

Watford are closing in on the signing of Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr for around £30million and are hopeful of completing a deal before the transfer deadline, although they face competition from their Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.

If they can get the deal done before transfer deadline, Watford are prepared to listen to offers for Success - who has attracted interested from a number of clubs in the Championship.

The winger was an important player for Watford last season, scoring four goals in 35 appearances in all competitions, as the Hornets finished eleventh in the Premier League and reached the FA Cup final.

Success joined Watford from Granada in July 2016 and signed a new five-year contract extension at the club in December, extending his stay at Vicarage Road until of 2023.

He has scored five goals in 55 appearances for Watford and spent the second half of the 2017/18 season on loan at Malaga.

The Verdict

Success is an exciting player and he'd be a good signing for plenty of teams in the Championship. He's got pace, strength, power and plenty of experience in the Premier League.

If Watford are able to sign Sarr, then Success probably isn't going to get as much game time at Vicarage Road this season, so there's a chance he could be tempted by a move to the Championship.

Watford are prepared to listen to offers for the player - provided they can secure the signing of Sarr - but a lot needs to happen in order for this deal to go through and there are just a couple of hours to go until the transfer deadline.

Of course, there's every chance that things could change over the next few hours, but it doesn't look as though this transfer has much chance of happening at the moment.
