Sky Bet Championship sides Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing Norwich City striker Gary Hooper, according to the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
The 27-year-old signed for the Canaries back in 2013 in a £5 million deal from Scottish Champions Celtic, and has scored 18 goals in 63 appearances for Norwich in that time.
However, the striker is seemingly out-of-favour following their promotion to the Premier League, and had moves to both Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday break down before the transfer window closed last Tuesday.
But with the loan window set to open this week, the two clubs are set to renew their interest in the former Scunthorpe United man, who netted 50 times in a two-year spell from 2008 to 2010 with the Iron.
Hooper has been named in the Canaries’ 25-man Premier League squad for season, but he and Lewis Grabban have both been linked with moves away from the club.
Both Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday have made decent starts to their Championship campaign, and may look to Hooper to strengthen their attack and score the goals needed for a sustained promotion push. He is a proven goalscorer in the second tier, and netted 12 times last season to help Norwich secure promotion to the Premier League.
