Championship forward set to snub Rangers loan move

Published

on

Norwich forward Steven Naismith is set to join Scottish Premier League side Hearts on loan until the end of the season, as per the Edinburgh Evening News.

Naismith had been attracting interest from his former club Rangers but looks ready to sign on the dotted line for Hearts in time for their Edinburgh derby clash with Hibernian on Sunday.

Kilmarnock had also been interested in the Scottish international who has not played competitive match since August but he is set for a move to Tynecastle.

He should put pen to paper by the weekend and the news comes after Norwich boss Daniel Farke said yesterday that he expected a decision to be made on Naismith’s future in this transfer window.

The Verdict

Naismtih was always going to leave Norwich in this transfer window. Given his commitment to joining Rangers, I’d have had my money on him rejoining his former club.

However, Hearts have swooped and it will be interesting to see how he copes with the intensity of a derby cup match, having been out of action for so long.

Norwich fans – what do you make of Naismith’s departure? Let us know in the comments below…
