On-loan Sheffield United defender David Edgar has told the Sheffield Star that he is more than happy to make his move to Bramall Lane a permanent one.
The Birmingham City man, who is also a Canadian international, is due to become a free agent in the summer, after spending this season on loan with League One United.
Edgar though, has clearly enjoyed his time with the club, saying to the Sheffield Star: “I’ve had a great year, personally. It’s a great group of lads and both they and the fans have been brilliant to me. All the way through.
“Whatever happens happens. Ultimately, it’s not going to be up to me. But I’ve had a great year, I’ve really enjoyed myself.”
It remains yet to be seen whether Adkins will go back in for Edgar in the summer, and with so many Blades players set to be out of contract, it is a huge summer ahead for the Bramall Lane outfit.
Adkins though will have no reason not to be impressed with Edgar, who has helped the Blades look more solid, including 4 clean sheets in the last 5 games overall.
The Blades drew 0-0 with Barnsley at the weekend to all but end their play off hopes, leaving them 4 points off with only 2 league games left to play.
Blades fans, would you like to see Edgar back? Who else should you be looking to sign? Let us know in the comments!
