Championship defender eager to move to Sean Dyche’s Burnley

Brentford defender James Tarkowski is believed to favour a switch to Turf Moor, reports the Burnley Express.

The Clarets had an offer rejected by Brentford earlier in the month, and it is believed the Griffin Park club are holding out for a fee closer to the £5m they value the towering centre half at.

Tarkowski, a former Oldham player, has impressed this season and has attracted plenty of interest from some of the Championship’s big hitters. But, being from the North West, it is believed he would be keen on a move back to an area he knows very well.

He has made 22 appearances for the Bees this season as they look to consolidate their Championship status.

Burnley currently sit fifth in the table, but remain only six points off the top two. They will be keen to keep hold of their star names such as Andre Gray, and add further to the squad, with Tarkowski seen as an ideal addition.

Brentford sit comfortably in 10th position at the moment, and would surely use to any funds to strengthen their own squad further.

Sean Dyche’s Burnley side face MK Dons at Stadium:MK tomorrow night, in a match the Clarets will be favourites to win.
