Several Sky Bet Championship clubs are tracking Tranmere Rovers striker James Norwood, according to HITC.
Championship scouts have been sent to Prenton Park to monitor Norwood’s performances over the past few weeks, with the 25-year-old flourishing in the National League.
The striker is proven in the National League after scoring 49 goals in 165 appearances for Forest Green Rovers, and it seems that an array of second tier sides are keen on a move for the striker.
Norwood helped them reach the National League play-offs last season, however they ultimately lost to Bristol Rovers.
He has continued his prolific career with Tranmere this season after netting nine goals and bagging five assists, and has also represented England’s C side.
Tranmere currently occupy ninth position in the National League and will be hoping to keep Norwood to push for a play-off place.
He could be a great addition for a Championship club, but it would be a risky buy as he is yet to prove himself in the second tier.
The likes of Jamie Vardy are an inspiration to Football League clubs to delve into non-league football, as it is evident that there is an abundance of talent.
