Championship clubs set to do battle over 26-year-old striker

Championship duo Fulham and Bristol City could be set to battle for the signature of Rangers striker Martyn Waghord, according to the Derby Telegraph.

The former Leicester City striker has been in excellent form for the Gers, sparking talk of a move back to England, with both Slavisa Jokanovic’s men and Lee Johnson’s Bristol City both now said to be interested in signing Waghorn.

The 26-year-old has played in England for most of his career, before a move to Rangers following a spell with Wigan sparked the best form of his career.

He was top scorer last season as Rangers romped their way to promotion back to the Scottish Premiership, and Waghorn has continued that good form this season, with 8 goals to his name already.

Waghorn came through the ranks with Sunderland, but never quite made the grade with the Mackems. He enjoyed spells with Leicester, Millwall, and Hull, before his goalscoring exploits at Wigan led to his move North of the border.

Fulham and Bristol fans, what do you think? Is Waghorn a decent player? Would you take him? Let us know in the comments!
