Real Madrid could send Martin Odegaard on loan to the Championship, according to a report by The Mirror.

Odegaard's career is stalling in recent years and with little chance of him breaking into the Real Madrid first team, the Spanish giants are considering a loan move to England.

The 12-cap Norway international made his debut for his country at the age of 15 and soon earned a £3m move from Stromsgodset to Real Madrid in 2015.

The 19-year-old plays as an attacking midfielder or as a winger and he spent last season and a half on loan at Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Odegaard registered four assists and scored three goals during his time in Holland and he has only played once for Real Madrid's first team.

With time still on his side, the talented teenager is looking at the possibility of another loan spell with England a possible destination.

The Mirror speculates that Aston Villa and Derby County could pursue loan deals for the Norwegian wonder-kid.

The Verdict

Odegaard may not be Real Madrid standard but he could turn into a top player still as it is easy to forget that he is still a teenager.

The left-footed attacking midfielder could be one of the best players in the Championship if he can adjust to the physical demands of the division.

At a club like Aston Villa or Leeds, with a real emphasis on attacking play, Odegaard could take his career to the next level.
