The January transfer window is usually a busy time for Football League clubs, whether they are searching for a top class striker to fire them to promotion, or a solid centre back to help them avoid the perils of relegation.
However, especially in the Championship, clubs are starting to take more risks in the market and are signing lower league players with the potential to make it to the top of the English game.
Take Jamie Vardy for example, signed by Leicester from Fleetwood for £1m, or Andre Gray, signed by Brentford from Luton for an undisclosed fee.
The quality of players in League Two is arguably higher than ever before, with 4th and 12th place separated by just two points.
