Championship clubs lining up loan move for Manchester United man

A host of Sky Bet Championship clubs are waiting in the wings ready to secure a loan deal for Manchester United defender Paddy McNair, according to the Belfast Telegraph.

United boss Louis van Gaal has put his trust in the 20-year-old since his arrival at Old Trafford at the start of last season, but the Dutch boss is reportedly keen to let the Northern Irishman out on loan to aid his development.

Several second tier clubs are monitoring the situation ahead of a move once the transfer window opens, with Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly very keen, following Newcastle United’s decision to recall Mike Williamson earlier this week.

Wolves will face competition from Blackburn Rovers and Burnley for the youngster’s signature as the race hots up to secure his services for the second half of the season.

Out of all the linked clubs, it’s fair to say that Kenny Jackett’s side are in need of McNair the most, as their are incredibly depleted in the defensive department at the moment.

With Euro 2016 on the horizon, McNair is likely to see a temporary move away from the Red Devils as a positive chance to secure his place in the party that travels to France for the tournament.
