El Khayati has scored 11 times in his 41 appearances for the Staffordshire side, including eight so far this season, putting him top of the Brewers' scoring charts. The Dutchman signed for Albion as an unknown from amateur Dutch side Kozakken Boys in January 2015.

Queens Park Rangers are believed to be interested in signing him this month, as are Birmingham City.

The Blues are led by Burton's former manager Gary Rowett and, with the departure of Demarai Gray to Leicester City this month, are looking for another winger.

QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who left his job at the Pirelli Stadium a few months ago, brought El Khayati to Albion originally, and is thought to be a fan of him.

Rangers too are after reinforcements after selling Charlie Austin to Southampton yesterday, and the player's versatility should mean he would be a good buy for the club.

The 26-year old can play as a winger or central striker and, according to the Burton Mail, Rowett has sent scouts on multiple occasions to watch his performances, which have lead the Brewers to the top of League One.

Whilst both managers would love to bring the Dutchman to their clubs, Burton boss Nigel Clough has previously stated that no one will leave unless it suits the club.
