According to the Mail Online, Aston Villa and Hull City are among four Sky Bet Championship clubs monitoring the situation of Real Zaragoza’s Angel this summer.

Angel is out of contract with the Spanish club this summer, and a number of Championship clubs, including Villa, Hull, Queens Park Rangers and Reading could look to sign the free agent.

Steve Bruce will be looking to be particularly savvy during the summer transfer window, as he looks to mould a Villa squad capable of challenging for promotion in the Championship, without breaking the bank.

Whilst Hull, who are currently without a first-team manager, are preparing for the Championship once again, having suffered relegation from the Premier League for the second time in three seasons.

Angel, 30, has been in impressive form for Zaragoza this season, scoring 21 goals from 39 appearances in the Spanish Segunda Division, which is Spain’s equivalent to the Championship.

Only two players in the division, Lugo’s Joselu and Levante’s Roger Marti, better the striker’s goal tally of 21 during the 2016/17 campaign.

QPR’s interest in the striker appears to be growing, with the Mail also reporting that the club sent scouts to watch Angel in Zaragoza’s 0-0 draw with Girona over the weekend.
