It's safe to say that Jude Bellingham has certainly hit the ground running with Birmingham City in his breakthrough season.

The 16-year-old has scored twice so far in this year's campaign, and is likely to be one of the first names in Pep Clotet's squad at this moment in time.

Bellingham has hardly looked out of place in the senior side, and will be confident of adding to his tally as the season progresses.

It seems as though his recent form hasn't gone unnoticed, with 90min reporting that Liverpool are leading the race to land his signature in the future.

It's highly unlikely that Bellingham will be featuring for the Liverpool senior team anytime soon, as they have better options available to them.

It's also claimed that Barcelona are said to be interested in signing the youngster, and you would think that Birmingham will be doing everything they can to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.

Bellingham has only just broken into the first-team at St Andrew's and he's far from the finished package so early on into his career.

Birmingham supporters will know that Bellingham is a player that has a bright future ahead of him, but they need to keep him grounded for the time being.

You don't need to be rushing into a move to one of the most prestigious clubs in the world, especially when you've only just broken onto the scene in senior football.

It's clear to see that Bellingham is a player that could really add something to the Birmingham team this season, as they look to build on some impressive showings in the Championship last term.

But Birmingham simply have to be doing everything they can to keep him at the club for as long as possible, otherwise the St Andrew's faithful won't see the best of the midfielder.

We've already seen from the likes of Jack Clarke moving to Spurs in the summer, that he isn't guaranteed first-team opportunities, which saw him loaned back to Leeds this season.

It's a real step up from the Championship to the Premier League, and although many Birmingham supporters will feel as though Bellingham can make it to the very top, it would surely be too soon of a move for the 16-year-old.
