Reading FC are said to be one of the teams that have submitted a loan offer to Liverpool for Ovie Ejaria according to journalist, Courtney Friday.

The Royals signed Ejaria on loan last season and the youngster was hugely impressive in his short stay in Berkshire.

He made 16 appearances for Jose Gomes’ side, and the Reading boss has evidently been pleased with what the midfielder can bring to his team.

Reading will be hoping that it can give them the advantage over other clubs in the race to sign him.

The report claims that no decision on Ejaria’s future will be made until after Liverpool’s Champions League Final though.

It remains to be seen as to whether Ejaria will want to sign for the Royals again, but he’ll surely be tempted after such an impressive spell earlier this year.

The journalist also revealed that Reading are unlikely to retain the services of Chelsea midfielder, Lewis Baker for another season, with the Royals likely to be priced out of a move for the 21-year-old.

You have to feel that without the numerous loan signings that Reading signed in January, then they could have potentially been relegated to League One this season.

But luckily, the new arrivals settled into life in Berkshire relatively easy, and were key to their Championship survival.

The Verdict:

What a great bit of business this could be by the Royals.

Ejaria’s work often went unnoticed in the Reading team, but he was a really useful player to have as they survived in the Championship last season.

His creative ability is really impressive, and I would certainly be surprised if Reading weren’t the frontrunners to sign him on loan for another season.
