Ipswich Town are facing fresh competition from an unnamed Championship club for Rotherham United’s Matt Crooks and that side have had an offer rejected for him by the Millers, per the Rotherham Advertiser.
It has already been reported that Ipswich are wanting to add the 27-year-old to their squad this summer as they continue their transfer rebuild under Paul Cook.
The Tractor Boys are already reported to have had made two offers to Rotherham for the midfielder and those have been knocked back by the Millers who are not wanting to let him go on the cheap.

According to the latest report from the Rotherham Advertiser, an unnamed Championship side have now come in with an offer for Crooks that was higher than either of Ipswich’s previous two bids. However, that has also been rejected by the Millers.
Paul Warne has also informed the Rotherham Advertiser that he expects the midfielder to be a part of his side’s pre-season trip to Hungary with nothing having changed regarding his future with the club.
This is a major blow for Ipswich and it suggests that the Tractor Boys are going to have to do a lot of work now to secure one of their key transfer targets this summer. Crooks is clearly a player that Cook believes can play a potentially vital role for his side in League One next term, and that is why they have been determined to come in with another offer for him recently.
However, Ipswich will now need to seriously up their offer if an improved bid on theirs was made by the Championship club and still rejected by the Millers. Rotherham would surely rather sell to a side in the league above them than allow Crooks to make a move to a promotion rival in the third tier.
It seems at the moment that Crooks’ future is no closer to be resolved any time soon and that Rotherham are insisting he remains part of their plans. That means that the Tractor Boys are going to need to weigh up how they approach the situation now and whether they should come in with another offer themselves.
