Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has stated that their have been complications in getting Eddie Nketiah to join the club on loan from Arsenal.

Johnson hinted that the player may have changed agent and that has caused a hinderance in a potential deal for the Robins.

Bristol City are desperate for some more firepower after Benik Afobe was ruled out with a serious injury earlier in the season. Famara Diedhiou has started a lot of the games as striker alongside a makeshift forward such as Andreas Weimann.

If the Robins want to achieve their ambition of a top six finish then they will need to try and get this loan deal over the line and give themselves a massive boost of reaching their goal.

Johnson has expressed that it's not something out of the ordinary with the Nketiah deal, but it is something that can complicate the move.

Speaking to Football.London, Johnson said: "I think he might have changed agent. Things like that can complicate it. Things like that can complicate any move.

"But it happens a lot. It's not something that's out of the ordinary though."

The Verdict

It really would be a huge singing for the Robins and one that would signify intent from Johnson's side, especially as they sit just outside the top six.

Bristol City have been very good for the most part of the campaign so far but the thing they lack the most is that killer edge to their game and in plain words - some more goals.

Nketiah can provide a spark that they don't have and in the brief substitute appearances that he made at Leeds, he showed that he can be one of the best forwards in the division on his day. It would be a huge loan signing for the club.
