Cummings, who has scored 13 goals in just 18 games this season, is attracting interest from a numbers of clubs in the Championship clubs in Brighton, Rotherham United, Cardiff City and Fulham, as well as Premier League side Bournemouth.

The 20-year-old once was a trialist at Huddersfield but he returned to Scotland due to homesickness, and worked as a gardener before signing a contract with Hibs in 2013.

He had been in the youth set-up at arch rivals Hearts as a youngster, but was released due to injury problems and went on to join junior club Hutchinson Vale.

It was at Vale that he caught the eye of scouts working for Hibs, and he signed a professional contract with the Scottish Championship side in the summer of 2013.

Cummings has gone on to score 34 times in 78 appearances for the Edinburgh side and has featured four times for the Scotland Under-21's, scoring once.

The Terriers are looking for a new forward come the January transfer window with having just three forwards on the books in James Vaughan, Nahki Wells and Ishmael Miller while Jordi Hiwula is on loan at League One side Wigan Athletic.

There is a recall clause in Hiwula's loan deal in January but Vaughan has already been told that his contract will not be renewed in the summer, while Miller is also out of contract at the end of the season.

David Wagner's Huddersfield Town are currently sit in 19th place in the Sky Bet Championship table, having amassed 15 points from 16 league games this season.

The Terriers face a tough match against in-form Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday at Hillsborough, in a match that new Huddersfield boss David Wagner will be eager to win.
