According to the Norwich Evening News, Alex Neil has moved to quash rumours linking him with the vacant Glasgow Rangers post.

Both Norwich City manager Alex Neil and his Assistant Manager Alan Irvine have been linked with the manager job at Rangers.

The Scottish Premiership outfit are searching for a new manager after parting ways with Mark Warburton and the Norwich boss has emerged as a target.

Commenting on the rumours, Alex Neil said:

“Speculation, as usual.

“The simple fact is I have had absolutely no contact and heard nothing from no-one.

“I was as much surprised as anyone else.

“I have no intention of going anywhere.

“I have a big job ahead of me at Norwich and I am hoping I can get us into a position to finish this season well, first and foremost, and I am really hopeful for the future with some of the young players coming through.

“My sole intentions are on that.”
