Championship boss emerges as bookmakers’ favourite to land Rangers job

According to The Sack Race, Norwich City manager Alex Neil has jumped into pole position with the bookmakers to land the vacant managerial job at Glasgow Rangers.

Scottish Premiership side Rangers have been looking for a new manager since they parted ways with Mark Warburton earlier this month.

After being linked with a number of names, it appears that Alex Neil has emerged as the bookies’ favourite for the role.

Neil has been in charge of Norwich City since January 2015, overseeing promotion from the Championship and then relegation from the Premier League during his time at Carrow Road.

This season has been disappointing for the Canaries and there had been calls for him to be sacked as Norwich look unlikely to make the play-offs.

However, the 35-year-old is now the bookmakers’ favourite to become the next Rangers boss with Bet Victor placing him at 6/4.

Neil leads Alex McLeish, Alan Pardew, Gary Rowett, Barry Ferguson and Derek McInnes to become the new permanent Rangers manager.
