Chambers starts: The Ipswich XI Lambert should play v Norwich on Sunday

This weekend sees top versus bottom in the Championship table but also another one of the division’s fiercest rivalries take place.

Norwich City host local rivals Ipswich Town at Carrow Road in the second ‘Old Farm’ derby of the season in what will be a crucial match for both sides in terms of the season outcome.

Daniel Farke’s side will be eager to stretch their advantage at the top of the table whilst Paul Lambert will be desperate to spark a great escape from his Tractor Boys.

It looks like being a difficult task for Lambert and Ipswich, however.

They head into the match-up having lost six of their last seven matches, cutting them five points adrift at the foot of the table, and have not got the better of their local rivals for ten years.

But a win in a big derby match can often be enough to spark a serious run of form, so Lambert will need to make sure he gets his team selection spot on.

So, here is the XI he SHOULD play against the Canaries…

There should little change at the back from the side that lost narrowly to Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.

Bialkowski remains in goal behind a back four featuring the returning captain Luke Chambers who Lambert should risk for such a big game. Toto Nsiala keeps his place alongside him to add some much-needed mobility with Villa loanee Bree continuing on the right.

Skuse and Bishop maintain their places in holding midfield with a familiar attacking trio in front of them in the form of Freddie Sears, Flynn Downes and Alan Judge. On their day, those three have the potential to seriously trouble any defence.

Expect a change in attack as well with Hull City loanee Will Kean likely to step in for the ineffective Quaner. This was a change made after 55 minutes last weekend so is one that Lambert should make from the start this time.
