Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has revealed that Leeds United left-back Tyler Denton will remain with the club until the end of the season.

Denton made the move to London Road back in the summer, signing a season-long deal, but doubt had been cast over his future after a lack of game time during the first half of the season.

The 23-year-old has made just six League One appearances so far this season but will remain with the club until May despite the arrival of Sheffield United left-back Daniel Lafferty on loan earlier this month.

Asked on Twitter whether Denton would be returning to Elland Road or staying for the rest of the season, MacAnthony replied: "Staying."

The Whites currently have 11 players out on loan although it remains to be seen if any will be recalled early from their deals to help with the club's current lack of depth.

Peterborough currently sit seventh in the League One table with 26 matches played but just one behind Doncaster Rovers who occupy the final play-off place.

The verdict

I am not sure this is particularly wise from Leeds.

He is definitely not ready to be in the Whites' first team but he is not going to get much experience sitting on the Posh bench.

With Lafferty now also in competition with Denton and Colin Daniel, it does not look promising for the youngster.
