Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony has taken to social media to give an update on Leeds United’s supposed pursuit of Marcus Maddison and Jack Marriott.
MacAnthony regularly interacts with fans through his account and recently revealed that Leeds scouts had been watching Posh games for the previous seven or eight games.
That further increased speculation that the Whites will make a move for either Marriott or Maddison, or potentially both.
However, when asked by a Leeds fan whether the Yorkshire club were closer to signing either of the duo, MacAnthony delivered a firm response.

It won’t be the news that Leeds fans want to hear, with the club seemingly desperate for attacking reinforcements.
Key attacking midfielder Samuel Saiz still has five games to run on his suspension, whilst Thomas Christiansen’s side look particularly weak up front.
Summer signing Pierre-Michel Lasogga hasn’t scored since October and Kemar Roofe is the club’s top scorer with just seven goals so far this campaign.
Yet, they will face fierce competition should they move for either Peterborough player with several sides linked with both players in recent weeks.
Leeds fans are aware just how important this window is to their season and will be desperate to see the club make significant moves in the window.
Therefore, the news from MacAnthony that the club aren’t getting closer to signing Marriott or Maddison will be concerning.
Of course, that can change quickly and there are plenty of other targets out there, but it’s vital Leeds make the right additions in the next two weeks.
