Tottenham are monitoring the situation as they consider a move for Notts County’s 17-year-old forward Kion Etete, after the teenager had a week’s trial with the Premier League club according to a report in the Nottingham Post.
The trial culminated in a game for Spurs U18s against West Ham where he scored twice in a 5-3 win, in a match where Mauricio Pochettino’s son, Maurizio, had put Spurs 1-0 up.
Etete signed a professional contract with Notts County on his birthday in November.
So would Etete be a good signing for Spurs?
“It would be a smart bit of business.
“Etete has really impressed me this season, but I do have my doubts as to whether he would be getting the game time he needs with Spurs.
“He’s an exciting talent with a big future ahead of him and would be a fantastic signing for Spurs if they struck a deal for him.”
“Hard to tell.
“He’s played what, six times?
“What Spurs are after is potential, this kid isn’t even Deli Alli level yet.
“If they sign him we’ll hear no more for a couple of years.”
“Certainly, one for the future.
“Spurs have a track record of recruiting decent young players and could be onto another winner here.
“County are going down, and a move to the Premier League side could save his career and nurture him for the future.”
