Tariqe Fosu is a talented player for League One, and he departed newly promoted Charlton Athletic in the summer after two prosperous seasons in London.
Fosu joined the Addicks in the 2017-2018 season and made 35 appearances, scoring nine goals from midfield before making 30 appearances and netting just the two goals in the second season as Charlton went on to achieve promotion back to the second tier.
The 23-year-old has since dropped down to League One to show his worth in the division once again after Bowyer deemed him not good enough for Championship football, and he has currently scored six goals in 14 games for his new club as he looks to achieve the same success with Oxford as he did with Charlton.
Should Fosu have been kept on at Charlton?
Fosu started out his career at Reading, making one senior appearance in the 2014-2015 season before spending time out on loan in League One and League Two for Fleetwood Town, Accrington Stanley and Colchester United, making a combined total of 50 appearances and scoring 10 goals. After his release from The Madejski Stadium in 2017, Fosu remained relatively close to home and furthered his stock with an impressive two seasons at Charlton in League One.
Here, Charlton fans have responded on Twitter to give their thoughts on whether Fosu should have stayed at The Valley…

Yes because he isn’t a championship player & doesn’t work harder enough in a diamond formation

Certainly has the ability but not a Bowyer type of player

He probably wouldn’t get any game time cause he will have Gallagher and Williams and Cullen and some others in front of him

Was stupid we let him go in the first place. Would of saved us loaning in Leko

Yeah as he is better than Oztumer but he didn’t have the balls to buy into what Bowyer wanted so it’s his loss more than ours.
