Millwall are set to reignite their interest in Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates in January after missing out in the summer, according to The Sun.

Yates was a key player for Forest under Sabri Lamouchi last term, making 28 appearances across all competitions last term.

The 22-year-old has since made four appearances for Forest this season, lasting the full ninety minutes in Chris Hughton's first game in charge at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

Yates was linked with moves away from the City Ground over the course of the summer, with Millwall and Middlesbrough both being credited with an interest in the midfielder.

The Sun (18th October, page 61) claims that Millwall attempted to sign Yates on Deadline Day, however Forest blocked an approach from the London club.

The Lions are reportedly set to go back in for Yates in January, though, which could result in the player leaving the City Ground.

Yates put pen to paper on a new deal at the City Ground until 2023 last term, so he is clearly a part of the club's long-term vision.
