Scottish champions Celtic are keen to speak to Swansea City boss Graham Potter regarding the managerial role at Celtic Park, according to reports from The Sun on Sunday (14/04, page 61).

The SPFL side are reportedly looking at alternatives for current interim manager Neil Lennon, who took the reins of the Glasgow club when Brendan Rodgers left for Leicester City less than a couple of months ago.

Lennon has won five out of seven games in charge of the Hoops in what is his second spell as manager of the 49-time Scottish champions, but it remains to be seen whether the club will keep him on permanently beyond this season.

Latest reports claim that the club are keen to speak to Swansea's Graham Potter about the managerial role in Scotland, after an impressive tenure at Swansea thus far.

The 43-year old initially caught the eye when managing Östersunds FK, where he won 127 out of 249 games in charge of the Swedish club before making the switch to the Liberty Stadium in the summer.

The former West Brom defender has done a shrewd job at the helm of the Swans, taking his side to 13th position in the Sky Bet Championship table under a very tight budget this season.

The Verdict

I actually really rate Potter as a manager, and I think he would be an excellent appointment for Celtic if they choose to hire him.

I don't think it would be the best move for Potter though - he has made the move from Sweden to England to obviously make a name for himself in some of the most competitive leagues in the world.

The SPFL just isn't very competitive at all, as Celtic practically win everything every year, so if he wants to take it easy, then it would be a good move for him.
