Uncertainty at Celtic could prove troublesome in their pursuit of Ben Davies, according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon.
The Preston North End star faces an uncertain future with his contract at Deepdale due to expire at the end of the current season.
With no contract agreement reached it seems increasingly likely that the defender will be moving on – whether it’s this month or in the summer.
Celtic have been a long-term admirer of the 25-year-old after reports emerged back in October regarding their interest in a move for the player on a pre-contract agreement.
However they’re not the only side keen with Udinese, Sheffield United, Bournemouth also linked.
Presotn are said to have offered him a club-record deal to stay at Deepdale, but with no extension agreed it seems that he could be moving on, with the Bhoys thought to be favourites.
However things are far from certain at Parkhead.
Speculation is building with regards to Neil Lennon’s position as matters both on and off the pitch see him come under increasing scrutiny in his role.
That could be key with a managerial change likely to alter the business done in the transfer market – something that Nixon has agreed as he claims there is ‘too much uncertainty’ around the club to conduct such a deal.
If Celtic decide what doing next season they can start making signings. Too much uncertainty right now. https://t.co/rorjMKUwu7

Quiz: Did these 17 Preston North End players ever actually score a league goal for the club?
Ben Davies is very much at the heart of a transfer tussle.
While Celtic are seen as leading contenders to sign the defender it’s worth remembering that a number of clubs are thought to be keen as his contract ticks down.
Whether a move to Glasgow will transpire right now remains to be seen, but Neil Lennon’s situation as manager is bound to have an impact on things.
