Celtic are reportedly set to make a bid in excess of £1 million for Exeter City wide man Joel Randall.
After featuring intermittently last term, the 21-year-old has been a key man for the Grecians this season – scoring eight times and adding five assists already.
According to Football Insider, the Scottish club are looking to add more firepower in January and are set to table a seven-figure offer for the League Two attacker.
The report claims Celtic have been monitoring Randall this term and feel that he has both the talent and aptitude to succeed at a higher level.
The wide player came through Exeter’s academy, which has produced the likes of Ollie Watkins and Ethan Ampadu in recent years.
Did these 20 things happen to Exeter City in 2020?
Randall looks a really exciting young player but the step up from League Two to the SPFL is a fairly big one.
It’s a risk to assume that the 21-year-old is ready to have an impact for Celtic right away but if they’re making this signing with success in a few years time on their mind, then it could be really smart.
If the Exeter man continues to flourish other big clubs are going to start circling so landing him now could be a shrewd move, particularly if it’s for a fairly low seven-figure sum.
