Celtic are readying a move for Queens Park Rangers winger Bright Osayi-Samuel ahead of January, according to Football Insider.

Osayi-Samuel's future at QPR looks uncertain, with his contract at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium set to expire at the end of the season.

The winger has scored two goals and registered three assists in 17 Championship appearances for the R's this season, and was one of their standout performers last season.

Celtic, though, are hoping to take advantage of Osayi-Samuel's situation and are said to be readying transfer talks ahead of the January transfer window.

According to Football Insider, Celtic are ready to hold talks over a move for the wide-man on a pre-contract basis, meaning that he could agree to sign for nothing in terms of a transfer fee.

Osayi-Samuel was close to joining Club Brugge for £5m in the summer, and has attracted interest from Leicester, Fulham and Brighton since his failed move to Belgium.

The Verdict

This would be criminal if Osayi-Samuel was to leave QPR for nothing.

He has been one of their key players in recent years, and it was a massive boost for them to keep hold of him after losing Ebere Eze in the summer.

He looks set to leave this season, though, and losing a player of his quality for nothing would be a blow, and a bad financial decision.
